Daniel Storer got his 2018-19 season Wingless Sprint feature-race winning account underway at Geelong’s Avalon Raceway by taking out last Saturday night’s third round of the Indy Race Parts Australia Super Series.

Following a consistent start to his season campaign with top-10 finishes in his opening three race meetings, the Portland, Victoria-based racer, who is the defending Super Series Champion, managed to outpace a strong field of over 60 rivals at Avalon Raceway by qualifying on pole position for the feature race and then going on to lead the entire 30-lap distance.

“I was thrilled with how the night panned out for the team and I, and it’s a good feeling to getting that first feature-race win for the season out of the way,” a jubilant 24-year-old racer said.

“Apart from the large fields, the depth of competition in our state is tough, so anytime you can get a bit of luck during the qualifying events, you take it and it sets you up nicely for a good feature-race starting spot.

“Starting up the front of any feature race is a massive advantage, and I’m glad that I was able to take advantage of it over the weekend and come away with the win.”

With such large fields in the state of Victoria, consistent performances throughout both of your heat races are vital, and that’s what earned Storer his pole position start for the feature race by virtue of second from the back of the field in his opening heat race and then converting a pole position start to a win in his second heat race.

This Saturday night, Storer, aboard his Vic # 43 Castrol / Bill Storer Motors supported Maxim, will travel across to South Australia to compete in the second round of their state series at Murray Bridge Speedway.

Storer’s plans for the rest of the 2018-19 season are contest the remaining rounds of the Super Series, also defend the Summer Slam Series, along with running in the Victorian Title at Avalon Raceway, the Australian Championship at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway, and the South Australian Title at Murray Bridge Speedway.

The Storer Motorsport team would like to thank their 2018-19 season sponsors: Castrol Edge, Bill Storer Motors, Repco – Portland, The Royal Hotel – Portland, Allstar Graphics, Wurth Australia, RPC Auto Electrical. Special thanks also must go out to the team’s hard-working pit crew, family and friends.
