Will Davison has reacquainted himself with open-wheel machinery with a run in an F3 car ahead of his Minardi two-seater drive at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
The Erebus Motorsport V8 Supercar driver got behind the wheel of Chelsea Angelo's Ozstaff Racing Dallara F3 car at the Australian Automotive Research Facility near Anglesea in Victoria.
Davison is no stranger to Formula 3 having competed in the category in Britain in 2003 and 2004, before returning to Australia to embark upon a career in V8 Supercars.
The test provided valuable mileage ahead of his stint behind the wheel of the Minardi two-seater at the mountain track.
Davison is due to share the Minardi two-seater duties at Mount Panorama with former F1 driver Zsolt Baumgartner.
“It was fun to jump back into a Formula 3 car again,” said Davison.
“It was nice to get some seat time in an open wheel car before I get to drive the F1 at Bathurst.
“They're great cars and I really appreciate the help that the team at Ozstaff Racing have given me in enabling me to jump in and use their Dallara today.
“The car was fantastic, I had a ball driving it and I'm looking forward to getting to Bathurst next week and driving the F1 on the mountain.”
