West Australian Sprintcar team, Krikke Motorsport has launched a unique fundraising activity for the Cancer Council of Australia, offering its front wing for auction at every single event it competes in this summer.
The team was rocked at the end of 2013 when owner and former driver, Shane Krikke was diagnosed with cancer for the second time.
In honour of the millions of people that are fighting cancer around the world, the team has joined forces with Craig Bradley at Skwid Signs, Paul Jeffrey at Vortex Race Products and Ray Stanshall from Pass Powder Coating to auction off the front wing from every event it competes at this season.
Each wing will carry the event name, date and racetrack, along with Krikke's signature and that of KMS driver and multiple Australian and World Series Sprintcars Champion, Brooke Tatnell.
The wing is delivered to the auction winner in the condition that it comes off the racetrack – win, lose or draw – however Krikke is confident of delivering some very clean front wings to the successful bidders:
‘This is a great way for the fans to get a one-off, unique piece of memorabilia and also help fight cancer as the money will be donated to the Cancer Council,” said Krikke. “We are very proud of the association as it is obviously one very close to not only our heart but every person that will head to the speedway this season. It should be fun and hopefully plenty of people will go home with a winning front wing! That is the plan anyway!!
“It is really exciting to form this partnership with the Cancer Council and we have had great support form a couple of our usual partners, Craig from Skwid Signs, Paul Jeffrey from long time supporter Vortex Race Products and Ray Stanshall from Pass Powder Coating.”
The wings can be bid on via www.raceradds.com – with events regularly uploaded as the summer unfolds.
