New Zealander Earl Bamber began his Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland campaign on a high note after finishing third in Round One of the championship as well as a victory in Round 2 at Hockenheim.
In addition to the solid performance, Bamber also recorded the fastest lap time for both rounds with 1:43.210 and 1:42.786 respectively.
Driving for Team 75 Motorsport, Bamber commented: “It was incredible for me and the team especially when we were able to claim our first victory of the season during the first race weekend. I think we will only grow and get stronger from here onwards.”
“We started sixth on the grid for the first round and it was already fantastic that we were on the podium. In Round Two we started seventh so it is definitely amazing to finish the race in first place.”
With the fantastic results, the 23-year-old is currently leading the championship alongside Philipp Eng who both scored 36 points at the end of both rounds.
Bamber who is the Porsche Motorsport International Cup scholar will be in action next at the first round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in Barcelona from May 9 to 11.
