Kumho Restates Motorsport Commitment announcing new Motorsport agent, dealer network and category supply agreements

KUMHO RESTATES MOTOR SPORT COMMITMENT ANNOUNCING NEW MOTOR SPORT AGENT, DEALER NETWORK AND CATEGORY SUPPLY AGREEMENTSKumho Tyre Australia has announced an all-new structure for its motor sport operations in Australia with the appointment of a new motor sport manager along with a revised network of motor sport tyre distributors around the country.

The announcement comes as Kumho has revised its motor sport portfolio re stating its commitment as the tyre supplier and naming rights partner of V8 Touring Cars while signing on as the tyre supplier for a number of other categories including Aussie Racing Cars, Australian Prototype Series and NSW and VIC Sport Sedans.

Kumho has appointed David Atkin of Prime Race Services as its national motor sport agent overseeing supply to all the categories and motor sport customers in general as well as managing the network of motor sport dealers based in each state.

According to Kumho marketing and motorsport co-ordinator, Rachael Sinai the new structure will allow Kumho to better serve the motor sport market and to deliver the best back up to its customers in all categories.

“David Atkin has a wealth of experience in motor sport both in the tyre business but also as a competitor and in vehicle preparation so he has a great understanding of the sport and the demands of motor sport customers,” said Rachael Sinai.

“The re-organisation underlines the fact that we are serious about customer service in motor sport and will be able to provide our customers with the best technical information and back up across the country,” she said.

“The Kumho V8 Touring Cars is an exciting category that continues to go from strength to strength and Kumho has devoted some serious engineering resources to the development of a range of new 18 inch tyres as the V8 Touring cars transitions into older Car of the Future chassis,” said Rachael.

“Motor sport still delivers our engineers some valuable lessons and information on tyre performance that can and is applied to the development of road tyres on everyday cars,” she added.

“Aussie Racing Cars is a category that Kumho has been keen to be involved with for some time and they provide exciting racing and a huge marketing opportunity for Kumho.

“Both Australian Prototype Series and NSW and VIC Sports Sedans have strong fields, with sophisticated, advanced engineering as well as set up and will fly the Kumho flag in the most testing and valuable engineering laboratory of all,” she added.

Kumho Tyres’ national motor sport dealer network will see Prime Race Tyres handling motor sport tyre sales and distribution in NSW, Tyrepower Essendon handling Victoria and South Australia, and Tas Tyres in Tasmania, all of whom continue on from state motor sport dealer roles in the past.

Adding to the network are new distributors in Queensland with Albion Motorsport taking on the role in the Sunshine State along with Tyreways WA in Perth completing the national network.

Kumho will continue to look at other categories and opportunities in motor sport while ensuring the highest levels of customer service and back up to the current categories.
