John Bowe continued his march towards another Touring Car Masters title with a dominant victory in the opening race of the Phillip Island season finale.
With title rival Jim Richards rendered a spectator after engine problems in practice, Bowe's Ford Mustang romped to pole position and a near four second win in the seven lap race.
Third-placed starter Greg Crick made short work of Jason Gomersall's Holden Torana on the second lap to take second place for the remainder.
Gomersall meanwhile endured a high-speed off at the exit of Turn 1 on the fourth lap that saw the iSeek entry make front-and-rear contact with the outside tyre barrier.
“I wasn't pushing too hard and was shadowing Greg,” he explained after limping home in 18th and last place.
“I think when I pulled out from behind him after the corner, I lost the air on the front of the car and it unsettled it. It's disappointing because the car was really good – but it will be fine for tomorrow.”
Andrew Miedecke inherited third ahead of Keith Kassulke and Mark King, who wrapped up the ProAm title in the process.
Bowe meanwhile remains set to secure the ProMaster title during the final two race of the season on Sunday.
