Movie star Eric Bana will embark on the biggest motorsport challenge of his life next month when he takes the wheel of a Lamborghini Gallardo in the Bathurst 12 Hour.
As expected, the 45-year-old confirmed this morning that he will co-drive with his long-time friend Peter Hill and experienced gentleman racer Simon Middleton.
The entry will be sponsored by clothing brand FXD Workwear, which forms part of Hill's Globe International Limited clothing empire.
As a 2008 model GT3 car, the entry will compete in Class B against two Audi R8s and 10 Porsche GT3 Cup Cars.
Bana has two previous 12 Hour starts to his name, driving Hill's Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X in the 2009 and 2010 events.
His other motorsport experience includes limited outings in the Australian GT Championship and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, as well as several tarmac rallies.
“I can't wait to get back to the circuit,” said Bana of Bathurst.
“The car is fantastic to drive, and the thought of competing once again with a couple of mates at this event is very exciting.
“I am thrilled that my calendar has allowed me to once again test myself at one of the worlds most demanding circuits.
“We are there to have some serious fun amongst an incredible line up of international A-level endurance teams and drivers.”
