Bairnsdale speedway’s time to crown a king as Limited Sportsman headlines the show

Bairnsdale Speedway returns this Saturday night with a long list of local Latrobe Valley and East Gippsland dirt track sedan heroes set to entertain in support of the annual King of the Rock for open wheel Limited Sportsman, which has attracted competitors from the Wimmera, the South-West and East Gippsland.

Limited Sportsman have their first run of the season at Bairnsdale Speedway with Victorian champion Jock Baker set to resume battle with his own son Tommy who won last Saturday night in Horsham beating his father in his second ever race meeting. Andrew Wilson whom was third in the same race will make the trip to Bairnsdale also whilst local competitors Darren Adams, Mark Both and new racer David Knight represent the club in the feature class of the evening.

Division 2 Hot Rods return and after setting a ten-lap record for the class at the previous visit for the class, Bobby Devine will enter as the favourite. Troy Hutchison is likely to keep Devine on alert whilst Kevin Hays, Troy Wilson, Ben Crittenden are just some of the drivers looking for a big night on the racetrack.

Beau Stuchbery and Zac Barwise enter the second round of the Junior Standard Saloon series as the leading competitors amongst the entrants. Both had had feature event victories this season down at Drouin Speedway and they are set to resume battle with each other once again. Blake Smith, and Jack Braz are two other racers that have shown pace also and could upset the inform drivers with a victory of their own.

In Ladies Standard Saloon competition the likes of Kate Stuchbery, Elise Halliday and Kylie Lansdown are some for fans to keep an eye on, a victory on Saturday night will instil great confidence before the Victorian title two weeks later at Bairnsdale Speedway.

Rounding out all the entertainment is the Standard Saloon category with Andrew Cormack, Jack Yeomans, Josh Thomas, and Steve Dadswell likely combatants for the feature race win. Thomas will be in his spare car and will have his work cut out for him with a new winner at Bairnsdale a big possibility.
