A passion for grass roots motor sport and a real desire to nurture racing talent has led to the launch of a new driver academy, offering scholarships that go beyond a normal arrive and drive competition prize.
Aimed at those who don’t have the budget, sponsors or car to live their motor racing dream, Race Academy International (RAI) offers prize packages that include a drive program, plus technical and media training and social and local media profiling.
The prizes are designed to give the winners not only entry into various race series, that in 2019 will include the NSW Production Touring Cars series, Queensland Production Cars and the new BMW E36 series, but also an understanding of how best to deal with the media and the public.
Open to anyone, Race Academy International (RAI) has developed a four-tier range of programs aimed at different skill levels. Each of the four; Freshman, Clubman, State and Ultra have different prizes for that skill level, with entry starting from as little as $990 for the entry level competition.
Coaches and mentors who will help participants learn their craft and improve their skills include 2014 Nissan Sony GT Academy Australian winner and global runner-up Josh Muggleton, and company director and State-level production car racer Trevor Mirabito.
“With a strong focus on professionalism and delivering real opportunities to enthusiasts and grass roots racers, we have developed four scholarship programs designed to kickstart your motor sport career,” Mirabito said.
“Our vision continues to grow too, and we hope to offer our winners the chance to compete in an International endurance race in 2022.”
RAI already has runs on the board too, with cars and drivers that have competed and won class honours at Bathurst in production car racing, as well as providing consultancy services to race teams.
The company, owned by TLA Racing, also continues to prepare cars which are successfully competing in State and National level production car racing.
There are 30 spots in each of the four divisions offered by Race Academy International; Freshman, Clubman, State and Ultra; each with their own major prize, and runner up prizes, awarded on the day. More information is available at www.raceacademyinternational.com
