The upcoming Honeywell Garrett Brisbane Jamboree presented by Link ECU and Tuners Edge will boast a packed Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine across both of its days in August.
The event is Australia’s premier sport compact drag racing and car culture event and will be held at Willowbank Raceway across August 25 and 26.
The Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine caters for all sorts of cars – new school and old school, four-cylinders and rotaries right through to V8 muscle cars.
Shannons, providers of insurance for motoring enthusiasts, is the naming rights sponsor for the two-day Show ‘N’ Shine which will for the first time this year feature a quarter-mile cruise for all participants.
“The Brisbane Jamboree Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine is probably like no other. Being a sport compact group event, it features some really unique cars we don’t see often, so I’m really looking forward to this year’s event and the Show ‘N’ Shine,” Shannons Business Development Manager (Queensland), Philip Ross, said.
“These cars are gaining a lot more popularity in the Australian market, certainly at our Shannons Auctions we are seeing people paying a lot of money for these kinds of cars, the market is really heating up.
“Being an insurance provider for motoring enthusiasts and anyone who is passionate about their car, we really look forward to the Brisbane Jamboree event. This group is certainly very passionate and we see the best of the best turning out for Show ‘N’ Shines like this one – we can’t wait to see what is on show this year.”
Shannons will also be having a presence on the track.
“We are very excited to bring ‘the’ Shannons 1959 Goggomobil Dart to the Brisbane Jamboree – it has a whopping big 400cc, two-cylinder two-stroke motor which pushes out a massive 10HP so it should do an amazing time on the Quarter mile,” Ross said.
“We will be running a competition at the event for spectators to guess the quarter-mile time of the Dart – the one who guesses the closest to the time will receive a Shannons prize pack. To get involved, you just need to visit the Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine trade stand and register your guess, and you can visit the Dart while you are there!”
The 2018 Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine at the Honeywell Garrett Brisbane Jamboree presented by Link ECU and Tuners Edge will be held on both days of the Willowbank Raceway event – August 25 and 26.
All show entrants will have the opportunity to complete a parade lap down the quarter-mile in front of the crowd on the Sunday (time permitting). As an added bonus, the first 50 online entrants will receive a Shannons goodie bag while the first 100 will receive a free coffee upon arrival at the Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine. The pre-entry fee is $50 per vehicle and includes driver entry for both days, vehicle judging and the option of discounted entry tickets and event t-shirts.

At-track registration will also be available for the Shannons Show ‘N’ Shine between 7.00am and 9.30am on Saturday 25 August. Judging will be held between 10.00am and 3.00pm on Saturday with the presentation scheduled for 3.30pm on Sunday 26 August in the show area.
