MEDIA RELEASE: Motum Simulation is excited to announce the running of its inaugural Virtual Bathurst 12 Hour that will coincide with the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.
The Virtual Bathurst 12 Hour will give 2 teams driving Motum Simulation’s MP6 6-axis motion simulators the opportunity to go head to head whilst at the same time racing against the teams at Mount Panorama. It will be a test of each driver’s concentration around one of the worlds most famous and demanding racetracks.
Motum Simulation MD and Race Director Steve Hoinville say “We are excited to not only race against the teams at the Bathurst 12 Hour but to showcase our cutting edge technology. Sim-racing and e-sports has come a long way in recent times and we believe this is a fantastic and fun way to show what the future could look like.”
The teams will be made up of a diverse group of drivers, some have real world track/racing experience and others only sim-racing experience. There will be pit stops, driver changes, fuel strategy, tyre strategy and damage making it a realistic race. Teams will be running GT3 Spec cars.
This unique event is aimed to be a fun and challenging event with the opportunity see what the future of sim-racing and e-sports has in store, whilst also being able to compare sim-racing performance against the real-world race.
