Sunny Darwin calling Heimgartner for Rd4

Melbourne-based Kiwi Andre Heimgartner is looking forward to a sunny change in Darwin this weekend for round four of the Carrera Cup Australia championship, and not just because of the weather.

The last round at Phillip Island, held in late May, saw the 22 now year old find some extra speed in his Bob Jane T-Marts Sonic Motor Racing Services Porsche 911, and also a positive step forward in his overall program.

Now, the championship leader hopes this progress will combine for a winning result at Darwin’s beautiful Hidden Valley circuit.

“We found a bit of speed at Phillip Island and on top of that, everything just clicked together with me and my engineer Mike Henry and I am really looking forward to working on that further,” Heimgartner explained.

“I haven’t raced a Carrera Cup car at Darwin before but from my previous visits there with Supercars I know it is a fast and flowing track and I expect that will suit the Porsche quite well.

“Also from my previous visits there I know the event is a great one to attend – first of all, it is warm and sunny which is a very welcome change from the cold and dreary conditions in Melbourne at the moment; and secondly the atmosphere up there is always great fun to be a part of.

“I can’t wait to get up there and put on a show for the fans, while at the same time hopefully further establishing our championship lead and bring home some good results for my valued sponsors, including new supporter Car-O-Liner which has come on board with us just in time for this weekend,” said Heimgartner.

Car-O-Liner Group is a leading global manufacturer of collision repair and wheel alignment systems. The group’s brands include Car-O-Liner System, Josan, TruckCam and Car-O-Liner Academy. For more on the Car-O-Liner Group, go to www.car-o-liner.com.au

Heimgartner is also supported on-track by Bob Jane T-Marts, Gates Australia, Southcott, Car City, Money Now, Plus Fitness, Superlux, Giltrap Group, Hamilton Asphalts, Highline Active, BlueChem, Civiltrain.nz, Z Motorsport Memorabilia and Webb Performance.

Round four of the Carrera Cup Australia Championship will kick off at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, this Friday the 16th of June with two practice sessions at 10.00am and 1.50pm. Saturday will host qualifying at 10.20am followed by race one of three at 1.00pm, before two further races are held on Sunday at 12.20pm and 3.25pm respectively.
