Wingless Sprints and Unlimited Sedans return to Alexandra with feature events

Saturday night in the Murrindindi Shire, motorsport enthusiasts will head out to Alexandra Speedway for the second nights racing of this season with some fresh variety on track with the visiting Wingless Sprints in action along with the Unlimited Sedans, they will join Sports Sedans and Speedway Sedan Australia Juniors in the race to the chequered flag Saturday evening.

Wingless Sprints return after some time away from the venue, approximately it has been seven years since they have competed at the fast 570 metre long venue. Competing for the AIO Cup supported by business All In One Group whom are involved in Labour supply, training, engineering and construction. Amongst the line-up is a strong contingent of front running competitors from across Victoria who will be keen to set records and win the trophies and the big cash prize-money on offer.

Brothers Daryl Logue and Wayne Logue are never far away from the front of the field and they will come from Morwell to compete this weekend. Matt Mills from Melbourne is another who never strays far from the top five. Travis Evans from Bunyip has racked up wins in West Gippsland quite often, Dillon Siely is another to watch and we will be keen to see how Alexandra’s own Jessie Garlick goes on her home club track.

Some keen New South Wales competitors will be in on the action with John Egan, Coby Elliott, Matthew and Peter Thacker and Evan O’Bryan in the field and seven year old track records should tumble.

Visiting competitors from the Unlimited Sedans will compete in a points score event for the driver’s promotional group. Victorian Champion Warrick Taylor heads the nominations with Lennie Bonnici, Anthony McKean, Adam Monti, Darren Nelson and Alexandra Club member Daniel Unternahahrer. The field is strong with powerful cars and should provide great entertainment.

Sports Sedan records could tumble this meeting also on the fresh new surface after Steve Kershaw was one driver who came close to cracking the record last race meeting. This time the line up includes Brendan Miller the current record holder for the class and his brother Damien, Dale Smith and Josh Service and along with Lee Beach and Harry Orme, there will be a host of drivers given the records a shake and trying to grasp the winner’s trophy.

Speedway Sedan Australia Juniors return with Top Stars and New Stars action. Jayden Bryant, Linken Paterson, Rhys Meakins, and Dylan Barrow in the Top Stars and the likes of Maddy Capon, Jack Kershaw, Christine and James Oliver and Toby Parks could figure in the final podiums later in the evening.
A few Street Stocks have nominated for a run before the Victorian title, with hope a few more will have made the decision to join them by Wednesday evening.

Racing starts from 4pm this Saturday, gates are open from Midday at a cost of $50 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children between the ages of 10 to 16, $20 per adult and $10 for children aged 10 to 16 and aged and invalid pensioners. Children under 10 years of age enter for free.
