Alex Davison will make his competitive return to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship this weekend after securing a deal to drive for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.
The 37-year-old will pilot the #3 LDM Commodore at the Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint, which will mark his first drive in the category since 2015.
The arrangement sees Davison become the fifth driver to race the #3 LDM Commodore this season following in the footsteps of Taz Douglas, Matthew Brabham, Cameron McConville and Aaren Russell.
The Gold Coast-based driver last featured in the category when he drove alongside younger brother Will Davison at Erebus Motorsport in the Pirtek Enduro Cup.
He was recalled for the final round of the 2015 campaign on the Sydney streets.
Davison has made 156 Supercars starts with his last full-time campaign arriving in 2013 with Charlie Schwerkolt Racing.
The Porsche Carrera Cup Australia title contender will pilot the car for the first time in opening practice at the Queensland Raceway on Friday at 1255 AEST.
