Kyle Clews has wrapped up the 2012 FW1 Aussie Racing Cars Series by winning the final round at Winton Motor Raceway today.
After claiming victory in Race 1 yesterday, Clews finished first, third and first in today's three races, claiming his second-ever Aussie Racing Cars title.
Trent Young finished second overall, which was enough to launch him ahead of Peter Carr, who endured a disappointing final round. Carr finished the round in a lowly ninth overall, seeing him drop to third in the title.
Young enjoyed a strong weekend, despite not being able to match Clews for speed. Young finished the weekend with three second place finishes, plus the Race 3 win.
Young gun Tyler Owen, driving the new Holden Cruze Aussie Racing Car, was third for the round, taking three third places and second in Race 3.
Travis Edwards, Brendon Pingel, Gus Robbins, Dean Cottrell, Mark Duckworth, Carr and Mark Griffith rounded out the top 10 for the round.
Meanwhile, in the Vintage Formula Atlantic class, V8 Supercars team owner Kim Jones made a strong return to form after a gearbox issue in yesterday's race.
Jones won both of today's races, sealing the round win ahead of Geoff Calvert and Luke Doidge.
