Improved Production Queensland moves from Morgan Park Raceway at Warwick to the high speed paperclip that is Queensland Raceway, for round 2 of the QIPRA state championship, with ongoing support from major category sponsors CarSelling.com.au and MotorsportZone.com.

It’s sure to be another huge field, with the top 3 championship contenders in both the over 2 litre and under 2 litre classes all battling to secure points and stay on top of the leaders board.

Over 2 litre Championship leader Justin Wade took all 3 race wins for round 1 at Morgan Park.

“Round 1 was a nervous start to the year due to a big entry list and strong competition entered, our lead up event went well, with a great run at Bathurst 12 hour supports and a 5th overall. Gave us great confidence for the 1st round, the Ryno Insurance BMW ran faultlessly”, Wade said.

Wade will be looking to extend his lead in the championship, but he won’t get it all his own way with strong competition from Bruce Cook in his turbo Escort as well as David Homer in the “giant killing” Suzuki.

David Waldon set the under 2 litre class a-light at Morgan Park with his Mazda running in the top 5 all weekend, and he is going to make sure his form continues at Queensland Raceway. As always though there will be a strong field of under 2 litre cars to ensure that the Mazda doesn’t get it all its own way.

Round 2 will be sure to provide some of the best racing on the program over the weekend; tickets are available from the gate at Queensland Raceway April 30th – May 1st.
