Plans for a $6.6million upgrade to the historic Pukekohe Park circuit will start next month after V8 Supercars cemented the date for the series to return next year.
The multi-million-dollar spend is part of a $10.5million deal V8 Supercars has struck with the Auckland City Council for the series to run at Pukekohe for the next five years. It was announced this morning that the 2013 date for the Auckland 400 will be from April 12-14.
There has been much concern raised that the proposed upgrades to lift the Pukekohe circuit to Grade 2 FIA specification are not needed for Australia’s internationally-sanction FIA series which will only race at the Counties Racing Club venue once a year.
