Walkinshaw Racing has uncovered its latest Supercheap Holden ahead of an expected surge of livery launches leading into the Sydney SuperTest.
Tim Slade’s car is just the fourth to be fully revealed ahead of the pre-season test, which kicks off with a ride session tomorrow afternoon.
Unlike the sister Holden Racing Team entries, which will campaign a test livery in Sydney, Slade’s car will feature its season colours.
This year marks the fourth for Walkinshaw Racing with Supercheap backing and the second with the 29-year-old Slade.
The South Australian endured mixed fortunes on the way to 17th in points last year but enters the new season buoyed by recent form which included a second place race finish in December’s Sydney 500.
“We finished off last year relatively well, so I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running and getting some solid results straight up for 2015,” said Slade, who remains winless after six full-time V8 Supercars seasons.
“It will be great to break the duck, and get a race win on the board.
“There would be no better way to start the year if I can do that at my home event, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide; I’d be a very happy boy, indeed.”
Slade’s endurance co-driver, Tony D’Alberto, will not join the team this weekend as he is competing with Maranello Motorsport in the Bathurst 12 Hour.
