A news report in The Sunday Mail has stated the long held speculation that Casey Stoner will compete in the 2013 Dunlop Series with Triple Eight Race Engineering.
Stoner, who quit MotoGP at the end of the 2012 season after a career that netted two world championships, will race with his traditional number #27.

“Since I was 12, I've always been interested in it,” Stoner told the official Clipsal 500 Adelaide race program of V8 Supercars.
“It was always my plan during my whole career to drive a V8.
“It's now the new chapter in my career but I have to be realistic and see if we're capable of doing anything.”
Stoner's Holden Commodore VE is currently being prepared in Triple Eight's Banyo, Queensland, workshop alongside the outfit's fleet of Car of the Future V8 Supercars Championship entries.
