Kumho V8 Touring Car Series organisers have released a reduced, five-round calendar for the 2015 season.
The Shannons Nationals class has struggled for grid numbers this year, with just seven cars taking to the track at last weekend's Phillip Island round.
Following competitor feedback, the opening round has been moved from Mallala to Sandown, with the South Australian venue now missing out on a round for the first time in the class's seven-year history.
Winton, Queensland Raceway, Phillip Island and Sydney Motorsport Park retain their rounds, while October's visit to Wakefield Park has been dropped, cutting the scheduled from six to five events.
“It's no secret is has been a tough year for the Kumho Series with low car counts, but we're working hard to ensure next season sees more cars on the grid,” said category manager Rob Curkpatrick.
Confirmation of the Kumho calendar follows the announcement of the full Shannons Nationals schedule at the weekend.
The Sandown opener coincides with the V8 Supercars meeting at Symmons Plains; one of two clashes between the two calendars.
