Supercars Series rookie Jack Le Brocq has kicked off his Bathurst 1000 week in fine style, completing a retro road trip with a twist.
For the last leg of the journey from Sydney to Mount Panorama, Le Brocq took to the wheel of the Truck Assist 1946 Ford Jailbar for the cruise over the Blue Mountains.
The 72-year-old Jailbar recently underwent an eight-month restoration project, complete in a livery like Le Brocq’s Supercar.
Fitted with a modern drive train and safety features, it forms an integral part of the brand’s marketing drive.
“It’s awesome to be partnering with Truck Assist and to be able to bring a new sponsor to the sport,” said Le Brocq.
“The road trip is a lot of fun, the old Jailbar certainly turns a lot of heads, it’s something completely different to my Supercar, but it gets the job done nicely!
“It’s always exciting rolling in to Bathurst and seeing the big Mount Panorama sign up on the hill, that never grows old.
“This is our biggest week of the year, and I can’t wait to hit the track and see what we’ve got.”

This weekend’s event will see Le Brocq team with 2016 Bathurst 1000 champion Jonathon Webb in the Truck Assist backed Team TEKNO ZB Holden Commodore.
Le Brocq himself has form on the board at the demanding Mount Panorama circuit, with podium finishes in the Bathurst 12 Hour (2014) and Super2 Series 250km race (2017), while in 1000 he has a best result of fourth dating back to 2016.
The Supercars take to the track for the opening practice of the Bathurst 1000 at 9:35am on Thursday.
