Cars & Coffee raising money for Youngcare

The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) has been proudly representing the interests of employers in the automotive industry for 90 years.

During this time MTA Queensland has always looked for ways to give back to industry and support its members, whether it be free conferences or workshops or bringing members together to share resources and network.

In 2017, MTA Queensland took a further leap in its obligation to give back, by extending dedicated support to one worthy charity. Dr Brett Dale, Group CEO of MTA Queensland said, “Youngcare was an easy choice. We’d already been raising thousands for the charity over the years at our Industry Awards Dinner auction, so we formalised our relationship with Youngcare as an official Charity Partner. Youngcare dramatically changes the lives of young people with high care needs, significantly improving their lifestyle and happiness.

“Last year we proudly raised over $10,000 for Youngcare.

“In 2018 MTA Queensland commenced Cars & Coffee events at its premises at Eight Mile Plains, which have proven very popular, so the Association saw a great opportunity to raise more money for Youngcare,” said Dr Dale.

This year, MTA Queensland have invited Youngcare to host a sausage sizzle at the four scheduled events with all proceeds going to the charity.

Mr Anthony Ryan, CEO for Youngcare, said, “The support that Youngcare receives from the MTAQ community is incredible. With no recurrent funding, it is through partnerships like this that Youngcare can continue to create much needed change in the disability sector.”

Carstyle Crew will feature at the next event in February, a social group of car enthusiasts and owners of some amazing cars. Past Cars & Coffee events have seen vehicles ranging from the latest McLaren to a majestic 1912 Willys-Overland, Model 61.

The community are invited to join MTA Queensland in supporting Youngcare from 7.30am – 9.30am on Sunday 24th February for this family-friendly event at Freeway Office Park, 2728 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains.

Brisbane’s family radio station, 96five FM street team are coming along with their super fun mascot, Duke the DJ Dog.

2019 Cars & Coffee dates are 24 February, 26 May, 25 August and 24 November.
