Adam Macrow has tested a V8 Supercar and is eyeing a return to racing in 2012.
Macrow, the 2006 Fujitsu V8 Supercars Series winner, tested a Greg Murphy Racing Commodore VE at Winton and, budget permitting, wants another shot at a V8 crown.
GMR Managing Director Kevin Murphy says that Macrow and his team are working on putting together a program for him to race next year.
“Adam did a very good job, considering his lack of recent seat time in a V8 Supercar,” Murphy said.
“We think he would be a great front-runner for us in the Fujitsu Series, so it's a case of finding the funding for him to run with us next season.”
Besides his Fujitsu Series success in 2006 with Howard Racing, Macrow won the Australian Formula Ford Championship in 1998 and finished third in the 2005 Bathurst 1000 with Steve Ellery in a Triple Eight Race Engineering Falcon.
The test day was also Nick Cassidy's first opportunity to drive a V8 Supercar, ahead of his Fujitsu Series debut at Sandown. Cassidy spent most of the day behind the wheel of the #45 Drillpro/Fuchs/Earthex VE.
Geoff Emery and Tony Bates also participated in the test day in their VE Commodores, while Australian Formula Ford Championship front-runner Tom Williamson completed a handful of laps in Cassidy's car.
