Highly experienced Supercars engineer Campbell Little has returned to Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport ahead of Hidden Valley.

The Gold Coast-based Little has taken a part-time role with the Melbourne-based team and will engineer Andre Heimgartner’s #3 Holden in Darwin.

Heimgartner has been without a dedicated race engineer so far this year, requiring Barry Hay to juggle the duties with his position as team manager.

Speedcafe.com understands that the deal will see Little divide his time between LDM and varying GT3 commitments in Asia and Europe, which will likely see him unavailable for multiple Supercars meetings.

Little spent a brief period helping LDM at the end of 2014 before joining Erebus Motorsport as a consultant for the following season.

Engineering David Reynolds for the first five rounds of this year, Little split with the team following the recent Winton event.

In just his second season of V8 Supercars, Heimgartner says he’s looking forward to benefitting from Little’s experience.

“It’s great to have Campbell on board,” said Heimgartner.

“I’m hoping he can help in getting the team to the next level and bring some of his experience and wealth of knowledge.

“I’m looking forward to working with him as he’s worked with a lot of top grade drivers, so I’m sure I’ll learn a lot.”

A total of five drivers will have new engineer partnerships at Hidden Valley, with Erebus general manager Barry Ryan taking over duties on Reynolds’ entry.

Todd Kelly will be working with Perry Kapper following Jesse Walker’s sudden exit from Nissan, while there has been a dramatic double change at the Holden Racing Team.
