New Zealand team owner, mentor and driver Dennis Martin is in a critical condition in hospital with Pneumonia.
Martin, a multiple time New Zealand Formula First champion, is in intensive care at Palmerston North Hospital.
Owner of Sabre Motorsport, Martin is responsible for kick starting the careers of several successful Kiwi racers, including Shane van Gisbergen, Nick Cassidy, Richie Stanaway, Mitch Evans, Simon Evans and Brendon Hartley.
Martin is also heavily responsible for the creation of the SpeedSport ‘Star of Tomorrow' Motorsport Scholarship.
His Sabre Motorsport team will compete in this weekend's opening round of the Manfeild Winter Series with 2016 Scholarship winner Dylan Smith.
