Formula Ford will see an improved grid size enter the fifth round of the championship at Queensland Raceway next weekend.
A list of 15 drivers will compete at the Ipswich circuit on August 3-5, including a debutant and a selection of returning faces.
South Australian Luke Fraser will make his national Formula Ford debut, driving his Super Charged Batteries-backed Spectrum. The privateer competitor is a former Formula Vee and Formula Ford state racer.
Returning to the national ranks next weekend will be 12-time Australian karting champion David Sera. It will be Sera's second start after making his debut at Phillip Island in May.
Also returning for their second starts this are Anton de Pasquale, Ash Quiddington and Dylan Richter, with many drivers utilising the event as a warm up for the penultimate championship round at Bathurst.
Toowoomba-based driver Jordan Lloyd is another category returnee, making his first start for 2012. Lloyd will drive for BF Racing having competed with Evans Motorsport last year.
Meanwhile, championship leader Jack Le Brocq will look to rewrite the Australian Formula Ford Championship record books. After claiming the final two races of the third championship round at Phillip Island, and a clean sweep on the streets of Townsville, the Victorian can now better Ash Walsh's record eight-straight wins from season 2007 with another sweep in Queensland.
Le Brocq's tally of seven victories for the season lifts his career total to 11, sixth on the all-time list behind Percat, Steven Richards, Ash Walsh, Steve Owen and Chaz Mostert.
“I was having a look at the stats the other day, mixing it up with guys like Will Davison and Jamie Whincup is pretty cool. I'd like to keep going and better Nick's record,” Le Brocq said.
The Australian Formula Ford Championship will be seen in action on all three days of on-track activity at Queensland Raceway, with three races scheduled over Saturday and Sunday in support of the V8 Supercars' Coates Hire Ipswich 300.
