Supercars is working on a solution to restore the use of the national anthem at Supercars events according to Penrite Racing owner Betty Klimenko.
Klimenko’s views have since sparked plenty of conversation among Speedcafe.com readers.
Since showcasing her outrage on Facebook on Monday, Klimenko claims that she has spoken with Supercars CEO Sean Seamer who confirmed the championship is working on a solution to the matter.
“Sometimes, fate works in mysterious ways, and this kind of blew my mind, Sean Seamer, the CEO of Supercars, was listening to me, (and all of you) and called me, and we, are coming up with solutions to my (our dilemma),” read part of a post on Klimenko’s Facebook page.
“It is not as simple as you think but we are in agreement, and working on it.”
Klimenko is not the first to have drawn attention to the absence of the national anthem, with the issue having been spoken about in recent months.
The Supercars Championship will head to South Australia’s The Bend Motorsport Park for the OTR SuperSprint from August 23-25.
