Andrew Miedecke has taken pole position for the Touring Car Masters at Bathurst, despite facing parity restrictions after being reclassified as a seeded driver prior to the event.
The Port Macquarie native's now heavier and lower revving Chevrolet Camaro lapped the 6.21km Mount Panorama circuit in 2:43.38s as wet weather dominated today's proceedings.
John Bowe (Ford Mustang) will start Race 1 on Saturday morning alongside Miedecke, while category debutant Jason Richards (Holden Monaro) will share the second row with Bill Pye (Chevrolet Camaro).
Glenn Seton (Ford Falcon XB), Bernie Stack (Chevrolet Camaro), Jim Richards (Ford Falcon Sprint), Cameron Tilley (Ford Mustang), Tony Karanfilovski (Ford Falcon XY) and Eddie Abelnica (Ford Falcon XB) round out the top 10.
The weekend ended early for Formula Ford racer Elliot Barbour, with his yet to be raced V8-powered Chrysler Charger withdrawn from the event due to persistent teething issues.
The Touring Car Masters will not be seen on track tomorrow, with Race 1 set to kick off at 8:45 on Saturday morning.
