Sydney’s leading independent Kart Shop, Velocity Kart Shop at Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway is focused on supporting its local customers and wholesale CompKart dealers nationwide.
Velocity’s owner, Steve Macken is also the Australian importer of the American CompKart chassis, has returned to the business fulltime alongside Arlene and Matt Macken after the completion of a six month consultancy with DPE Kart Superstore, which was a side project undertaken by Macken.
2018 has seen further success for CompKart in Australia with Cody Brewczynski finishing second in the Australian TaG Championship and Kris Walton second in DD2 Masters. This came off the back of last year’s Australian Championship with Joshua Car – which has seen Car move onto the American Formula 4 Championship.
The Velocity Kart Shop team is building towards an even more successful 2019 season.
A number of Come and Try days available at Eastern Creek Karting Raceway for those wishing to test a new CompKart – or get involved in the sport; expert advice during race meetings for those wishing to pit with Velocity Kart Shop and Arrive and Drive packages (either transporting owned gear or leasing) at major state and national events are Velocity Kart Shop’s focus over the next 12 months.
“We’re charging forward with plans for next year, we have had success across the country with CompKart and we’re proudly one of the biggest independent kart shops in the Sydney market,” said Macken.
“We’ve always been independent and Arlene and Matt and our terrific staff, Greg and Cody, have been doing a top job while I undertook a side project with DPE Kart Superstore.
“That contract has come to an end and I’m now back in the business at Velocity Kart Shop to continue building the service New South Wales karters and our CompKart dealers have come to expect.”
The Velocity Kart Shop team will support local racing at North Shore Kart Club, along with other major New South Wales events, the Australian Kart Championship and Rotax Pro Tour in 2019.
CompKart dealers throughout the country will continue to support their customers at local and in some cases, National events.
