David Reynolds has revealed a new-look helmet ahead of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship featuring a tribute to his newborn son.
Reynolds and partner Tahan Lew-Fatt welcomed Ryu to their family earlier this year.
The helmet features his son’s name atop the helmet and a cartoon character inspired by the Street Fighter character Ryu.
Reynolds has previously run an image of the character Speed Racer doing a ‘shoey’ in the same location, an act he made famous in Supercars.
The forthcoming Supercars season marks a new era for Reynolds on track with a return to Kelly Grove Racing.
Reynolds, who won the 2017 Bathurst 1000, last raced for the then known Kelly Racing in 2011.
The 35-year-old will pilot the #26 Penrite Racing Ford Mustang alongside Andre Heimgartner in the #7 Ned Racing entry.
