Justin Ruggier has won each of the first two races of Aussie Racing Cars Round 3 at Hidden Valley after battles with Kel Treseder and Joel Heinrich.
Ruggier qualified on pole but lost the start of Race 1 to Heinrich, before an early Safety Car for a Grant Thompson rollover.
Racing restarted on Lap 4, and Treseder soon overtook Ruggier for second position.
However, as they started Lap 6, Treseder slipstreamed past Heinrich and Ruggier got both of them through Turn 1 with the double tow.
Treseder repassed Ruggier a lap later, only for the series leader to return the favour another lap later again, and Heinrich to take second position, with that order remaining for the balance of the race.
In Race 2, Ruggier led all the way in the #8 Western Sydney Motorsport entry, although that feat belied just how close Heinrich and then Treseder were for much of the 11-lap race.
The minor placings were reversed as Treseder, one of only two race winners other than Ruggier in 2019, finished second.
Another two 11-lappers, including the partial reverse grid third race, take place tomorrow at 1150 and 1520 local time (1220 and 1550 AEST).
