Centaur Racing’s on track gains are being felt off the track with two new sponsors signing with the team in recent days.
After a strong showing by team driver Tony D’Alberto at the Clipsal 500 last month, Centaur Racing has secured support from Orford Refridgeration and Diss and Dat for the remainder of the 2010 season.
D’Alberto told Speedcafe.com.au that his strong showing in Adelaide (where he finished seventh in Sunday’s race) has been pivotal in the increased interest in his team.
“It’s good for our momentum,” he said.
“We’re pushing pretty hard on and off the track to try and get up the grid, and we’re trying to make Centaur Racing financially viable. We definitely welcome on board our two new sponsors and it shows that we all moving forward.
D’Alberto acknowledges that finding sponsors in the current economic times is still a tough game.
“It’s absolutely hard. It’s not easy, but we’ve got a bit of momentum where we can consider a bunch of different options, rather than having nothing at all,” he said.
“Our results at Clipsal really helped. We got a lot of coverage there and it has made some of the industry prick up their ears. Now we need to do the same at Hamilton next week and beyond that to keep that moving forward.”
Orford Refrigeration is Australia’s leading commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturer, while Diss and Dat is an online store selling for home and work tools.
Both Orford Refrigeration and Diss and Dat logos will feature on D’Alberto’s #3 Commodore VE in the next round of the V8 Supercars Championship Series at Hamilton next weekend.
