Bathurst Regional Council has advised that a sixth expression of interest for Mount Panorama’s fifth event, from an international promoter, was in fact received.
Creventic, which runs the 24H Series and had told Speedcafe.com that it would be lodging an EOI, was notable for its absence.
Council has now advised that Creventic did in fact lodge an EOI before the 1600 deadline, which had been misplaced due to not going through its dedicated tender portal.
It will now be considered for the potential fifth event which is allowed each year by New South Wales legislation, although a decision on any successful applicant is not expected until August.
The existing events are the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, and Challenge Bathurst.
The full list of parties lodging expressions of interest is now as follows:
- Mountain Motor Sports
- Australian Racing Group & CAMS
- Ontic Sports Pty Ltd
- Supercars
- 24 Hours of Lemons Australia Pty Ltd
- Creventic International
