Young Australian racer Adam Marjoram has agreed a deal to join Erebus Motorsport’s 2014 Auto One V8 Utes program.

The 20-year-old from Perth completed his first full season in the Auto One Utes championship this year finishing a highly commendable 16th from the 54 driver field.

Only this week Erebus Motorsport announced they were expanding its commitment to the championship by fielding two Utes for the 2014 campaign, following the purchase of a former James Brock-owned machine.

The Betty Klimenko-owned squad were quick to move on rising star Marjoram, who will also join the Erebus Academy in the process.

The initiative aims to help aspiring young racers pursue a career in motorsport.

Marjoram is already looking ahead to the 2014 season which begins the Clipsal 500 in February and hopes a second season racing Utes can help him edge closer to earning a drive in V8 Supercars.

“It has been an amazing first year on the main stage of motorsport, we have had some great moments,” Marjoram said.

“My aim for this year was to learn all of the tracks and how to handle these V8 Utes, and build a good base to be able to push from for 2014.

“To have Erebus ask me to come on board is just a dream come true.

“They are such a professional outfit, particularly to become part of the Erebus Academy too. It is a fantastic program, I think 2014 is going to be awesome.

“My childhood dream is to race a V8 Supercar and that is where my sights are set.

“This program will give me the opportunity to take a further step closer.”

Erebus Motorsport CEO Ryan Maddison admitted he has already been impressed by Marjoram’s attitude and desire.

“Adam’s a bright talent with a very clear direction on where he wants to take his career,” said Maddison.

“He’s an impressive, hard working young guy that meets all of the qualities that Erebus Motorsport looks for in a driver.”
