Greg Rust will front this year’s Shannons Nationals streaming coverage.
The former Supercars commentator will host the live stream which will take place on each Sunday of the six rounds of the series.
AVE will continue to handle production on behalf of CAMS, while highlights will again be packaged up into the Speedweek show to air on SBS and Fox Sports, in which Rust will feature.
Rust has taken on a variety of roles this year across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, having left Supercars.
The respected broadcaster is presenting the CAMS Australian Rally Championship’s new television production, was a key member of the GPTV big screen team at the Australian Grand Prix, and has also recently launched the Rusty’s Garage podcast.
“Over time I’ve covered a wide range of categories in Australia so this just about completes the box set,” said Rust.
“I’m passionate about motor sport at all levels and the Shannons Nationals covers such a wide range; it’s the perfect mix.
“From the CAMS Australian GT Championship to the Australian Production Cars and every other category we’ll see race on the calendar this season, I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and sharing the insights from the track to those fans who are watching on at home.”
CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca added, “All motorsport fans will have seen the great work of ’Rusty’ throughout the years at various motor sport events and we can’t wait to work with him on the Shannons Nationals.
“Shannons Nationals plays host to a large number of categories and in 2018, our coverage of these events will allow fans to get up close and experience the action live on Sundays as well as to recap all the highlights through Speedweek on SBS and Fox Sports.”
Shannons Nationals kicks off for 2018 next weekend (April 13-15) as the first race meeting to be held at The Bend Motorsport Park.
The round will be headlined by the CAMS Australian Endurance Championship and also feature Porsche Michelin GT3 Cup Challenge, Australian Sports Sedans Series, Australian Prototype Series, Radical Australia Cup, Heritage Touring Cars, and Group S Racing.
