Emerging motor racing brand Radical Australia has announced an ambitious calendar for 2011 after a successful season this year.

Radical Australia, currently the largest importer of race cars in Australia, has doubled its competition field in 2010, competing as part of the New South Wales state racing series.

With the growth comes expansion. Radical’s current motorsport headquarters at Eastern Creek in Sydney has been extended to accommodate the 37 cars which it currently manages. There are 45 Radical race cars in Australia today.

But the real growth will be seen in the coming season, starting with the Radical Two Hour Enduro at Eastern Creek on December 11.

In 2011, the Radical Australia Cup will align itself with production car endurance racing in an attempt to bolster fields and secure television coverage.

The Radical Australia Cup be held over five sprint race series as part of the NSW state championship and also plans to join the card of a proposed four-hour production car series at three east coast circuits.

Radical owners from throughout the world, and particularly from the Middle East, will be invited to compete.

New regulations mean that Radicals will race the NSW championship against similar two-seat sports cars only and not against open or enclosed-body single-seaters as it has done in the past.

If the proposed series of long-distance production car races can get the green light, the organisers want to secure television coverage.

Radical’s one-make long-distance races will comprise two 50-minute events, both with compulsory pit stops.

The races are for exclusively for Radical sport cars only, modelled on the successful Radical European Masters series.

Radical has confirmed its single marque, two-hour enduro at Eastern Creek this December alongside the circuit’s Eight Hour production race.

Besides the racing, Radical has scheduled 17 Driver Development days in 2011, with each day designed to help owners progress their own skills and to develop their cars in conjunction with motor racing professionals.

Another eight corporate activities will be held by an associated company, Radical Events.

Radical has scheduled a total 34 events in 2011.

Radical’s Australian operations are based on the formula initiated in Britain since 1996 and which is now global.

More than 1000 Radical race cars have now been constructed and are in use in championships worldwide.
