Supercars will offer a new financial incentive to teams in this year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup courtesy of a new partnership with Volkswagen Amarok.
The new Amarok V6 Hard Charger Award will offer $15,000 to the driver pairing/team which gains the most positions across the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, Vodafone Gold Coast 600 and Penrite Oil Sandown 500 events.
The vehicle with the highest tally/improvement will be deemed the winner with the amount of positions/points determined by subtracting the driver’s starting position from the corresponding race finishing position, after any penalties have been applied.
“This is something different for fans of all teams to follow throughout the Pirtek Enduro Cup,” said Supercars General Manager – Commercial, Jamie Black.
In the case of a draw, the driver pairing that achieved the highest improvement of position in a single race is declared the winner.
If after this a tie breaker is still required, then the driver pairings who made the next best improvement of position in a single race will be deemed the overall winner.
The endurance season begins with the Bathurst 1000 from October 10-13.
