Pizza Hut Australia has made its first step into Australian motorsport by sponsoring former Formula Ford racer Steve Charman's rookie V8 Utes Series appearance at Bathurst next month.
Charman's Falcon Ute will display prominent branding promoting the pizza chain's latest product range.
The company will also leverage its involvement via television commercials featuring Charman's Ute and a promotion on social media website Facebook allowing fans to win tickets to the following V8 Ute round at the Armor All Gold Coast 600.
“Pizza Hut is thrilled to be involved in one of the country's most well-regarded motorsport events,” said Pizza Hut Australia's general manager Graeme Houston in a statement.
“In particular, we're proud to support Steve as he works to build on last year's success and take the next leap in his career.
“Pizza Hut is the world's largest pizza chain but selling pizzas isn't the only thing we do. We love getting behind Australian talent and can't wait to see how Steve performs in his debut at Bathurst.”
The 35-year-old Charman has spent recent years racing Formula Fords at state level, winning the 2011 New South Wales title with Anglo Motorsport. The Bathurst event will mark his national level debut.
Charman says that he hopes to eventually progress to racing V8 Supercars.
