Speedcafe.com is set to add an all-new high performance motoring section, called torquecafe.com, as part of its 10th-year celebrations.
Torquecafe.com will officially launch Friday November 8, 2019.
The new motoring lifestyle section will provide an insight into new high-end performance vehicles, performance aftermarket, products and news relating directly to the motoring industry.
Torquecafe.com will provide a link between the race track and the road and engage a like minded audience when it comes to performance, design, technology and serious fun.
It will also be a hub for clubs and organisations to promote their activities and engage with the motoring community.
The new venture will be headed up by one of Australia’s leading automotive experts, Stephen Ottley.
Ottley started in motorsport journalism in 2001 and moved into the world of motoring in 2007 where he went on to work for CarsGuide, Carsales and drive.com.au where he became a well-respected pioneer in the digital space.
“There is no denying that Speedcafe.com has been the benchmark for motorsport news in this part of the world for several years now,” said Ottley.
“To have the chance to head up the new venture of torquecafe.com under the same banner and management is a privilege and something I am seriously looking forward to.
“The performance car market and the increasing aftermarket segment provides terrific content opportunities which I am sure will help us evolve torquecafe.com into something unique.
“The great thing is that we are starting with the existing Speedcafe.com audience which is one of the largest and most engaged of its type in the world, which is a massive head start for a new venture like torquecafe.com.”
Brett Murray, founder and owner of Speedcafe.com and torquecafe.com, added: “I have known Stephen for many years and it has been terrific to watch him grow into one of Australia’s most respected automotive journalists,” said Murray.
“He has a tremendous depth of knowledge in the motoring space and we look forward to him heading up this next exciting phase for Speedcafe.com and developing the torquecafe.com brand.
“We believe that a performance motoring section will provide our current readership with more unique content and also encourage a broader audience to experience what Speedcafe.com has to offer.
“We have the desire to create a real lifestyle section on Speedcafe.com and have a heap of fun along the way.”
While the new section will have its own brand, torquecafe.com, it will be hosted on Speedcafe.com giving it automatic exposure to massively engaged national and international audience.
