Bathurst will formally acknowledge the enduring service of its late race director Ivan Stibbard next month.
Stibbard, who died aged 76 earlier this year after losing a long battle with illness, will have a grandstand named in his honour.
The Harris Park grandstand, on the outside of the pit straight at Mount Panorama, will officially be named after Stibbard at a civic reception hosted by Bathurst mayor Gary Rush on September 9.
Stibbard, a respected administrator who had an inextricable link with Australia's great race from 1973 to 1998, succeeded the uncompromising ex-cop Jack Hinxman.
The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, the middle leg in the tri-race Pirtek Enduro Cup, is scheduled from October 9-12.
Honouring Stibbard comes a day after the Bathurst Regional Council announced that 22 internal roads at the mountain circuit have been named after former competitors following a public competition.
