Former Supercars boss James Warburton has bought a stake in retail out of home advertising operator Shopper Media Group.
Warburton has become an investor in the firm while taking up a non-executive director position.
His involvement in the company which operates in 300 shopping centres in Australia comes months after leaving advertising giant APN Outdoor which he joined after departing Supercars in 2017.
“I’m thrilled to become part of Shopper Media Group. I’ve long thought that the business is a compelling investment opportunity – so much so, I’ve tried to buy it twice in the past,” said Warburton.
“Shopper Media Group is expanding rapidly and there are still significant transformational growth opportunities to be capitalised on. It’s the type of business and investment that I have been looking for and I’m excited by its potential.”
