An eight-year-old girl is reportedly in a critical condition after crashing a dragster at Perth Motorplex on Saturday.
According to PerthNow, Anita Board was undergoing a solo run when she lost control and crashed into a wall.
The report also claims she had to be revived by paramedics who were stationed at the venue before being taken to Rockingham Hospital.
Board has subsequently been transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.
It is believed that she was attempting to gain a licence to compete in future events.
Proceedings were suspended for approximately three hours before resuming in the early evening.
“Earlier in the day, a driver was taken to hospital following an incident during qualifying,” read a statement from ANDRA.
“Police were at the scene and on their advice racing was suspended while investigations were carried out. Racing resumed some time later.
“ANDRA’s thoughts are with the driver and their family.”
VenuesWest, the state government body which owns and manages Perth Motorplex, has confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
