Tim Slade’s Freightliner Racing Holden is the latest new look V8 Supercar to break cover ahead of next month’s pre-season testing.

Brad Jones Racing has released the first renderings of the revised Freightliner livery, which will be applied to a brand new chassis currently in build.

Slade steps into the team this year in place of Fabian Coulthard, who has made a much publicised switch to DJR Team Penske.

With race engineer Phil Keed also off to DJRTP, Julian Stannard has been promoted from BJR’s third car in order to work with Slade.

Gold Coast-based Slade has spent time in BJR’s Albury, New South Wales, workshop during the past week and says he’s looking forward to testing his new car on February 22.

The team is also building a new car for team-mate Jason Bright ahead of the season opening Clipsal 500, while Tim Blanchard will inherit the chassis debuted by Coulthard last April.

‘It’s been a great couple of days at the workshop,” said Slade.

“The guys are busy preparing the cars and everything is coming along really nicely.

“The energy in the workshop is great and I’ve enjoyed spending time with the team.

“Preparation is key and I know the team are working hard to ensure that when we get to Clipsal and can hit the ground running.

“As always I’ve been spending a lot of time working on my fitness and even got to hit a couple of the hills around Albury on my visit.”

BJR will chalk up its 500th V8 Supercars race start at the Clipsal 500, where Coulthard took a Saturday heat win last year.
