Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport’s Nick Percat/Cameron McConville Holden will pay tribute to sponsor Phil Munday’s racing heritage at Sandown.
The team has unveiled a new livery for the retro-themed event that mimics that seen on Phil Munday Panel Works-backed speedway cars in the 1970s.
It also features the crash repair specialist’s original logo from when his company was founded in 1977.
“It’s hard to believe it was almost 40 years ago,” said Munday of the original branding.
“It’s great to have a retro round where everyone has the chance to show off their old school designs.”
LDM’s second car, driven by Andre Heimgartner and new signing Aaren Russell, will run in its recently unveiled Plus Fitness colours.
Both cars are at Winton today alongside the two Erebus Motorsport Holdens undertaking a test ahead of the weekend’s Wilson Security Sandown 500.
