Former Australian GT Championship manager Ken Collier has joined the Australian Racing Group with immediate effect.

Collier will be in charge of the operational and logistical needs of ARG’s growing portfolio which includes TCR Australia, S5000, Touring Car Masters, and the newly acquired Bathurst 6 Hour.

A former competitor in off road events, Collier played a role in introducing Carrera Cup competition into Australia, then worked with Tony Quinn at the helm of Australian GT from 2012 before stepping away from the position at the start of 2019.

The Victorian is also Australia’s representative on the FIA GT Commission, having initially been appointed an observer in 2017.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of being involved with the Australian Racing Group as it goes through a very dynamic growth phase,” said Collier.

“My role will be to find synergies within the business to better utilise the resources and ensure that we further develop the management of the categories and events.

“In a short space of time, ARG has attracted a great list of racing categories and events, which is only going to grow in time, and I feel very fortunate to be working with such a passionate team.”

ARG director Matt Braid added: “Ken is one of the most experienced and respected category managers in Australian Motorsport and we are extremely pleased to have him join ARG and assist in continuing to develop our business.

“As we continue to grow, it is important to have the right people in the right places, and Ken is a perfect fit for what will be a varied, dynamic role.”

TCR Australia is in action at Winton next weekend as part of the Shannons Nationals, while Touring Car Masters will be on track the same weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.
