Victorian Greg Ackland turned the tables on his South Australian rival David Mahon to win the South Australian Hillclimb Championship on at Collingrove on October 14-15.
Hosted by the Sporting Car Club of SA, Ackland pushed his Formula Libre U2.0lt turbocharged Kawasaki-powered Ninja GA8 to a best time of 28.94s. He beat five-time SA and three-time Victorian champion Mahon (Dallara F394/Hayabusa) by 0.49s.
Third place went to Derek Foster and of his older brother Allan in the shared U2.0lt F/L Suzuki-powered White. Next was the first of the tin tops with Henry Beasley in the 4WD Mitsubishi EVO IV ahead of David Coombe (EVO 7), Paul Healey (EVO 8), Harry Pfeiffer (Clubman Sports Car) and tenth placed Damien Brand (Subaru Impreza WRX) in a field of 103.
